Matt Parker seems to have won the battle with Peter Nicholas for the No 2 shirt, while Seb Fitz-Gerald appears to have edged out Scott Weenink at fly-half.
Barring injuries or dramatic losses of form, the only change for Twickenham on Tuesday, December 7 (2.00) will be the return of Andy Roberts.
Oxford are known to be keen for the experienced lock to play against Cambridge, but he has missed the whole season through injury and his hopes of running out at rugby's HQ are fading fast.
The Dark Blues, who will be out to halt a run of three straight losses tonight, finish their Varsity build-up away to Durham University this Saturday (2.30).
Scottish wing Craig Joiner will be the only international in a weak Tigers squad.
