A host of new products to protect motorcyclists were unveiled at the International Motorcycle Show, writes Simon Nix.

One which caught my eye was a Knox 'folding' back protector. What a good idea. The very few times I leave my own solid, one-piece protector at home is if I am going somewhere where I know I will have to carry it around with me all day.

This new product can be easily rolled up and fitted into its own bag, which can then be carried on your shoulder. It will cost about £60.

Another item is the PKX Future all-in-one suit. This garment, in a whole range of sizes, is made from a breathable mixture of lycra and Cordura. Armour is fitted to all the key points. It will cost about £160. Both come with a free accident insurance.

Other products unveiled were PKX Future safety shirt (£100), the PKX Future Safety long johns (£60), the armoured Cordura Gillet, with detachable arms (£200) and three designer fleeces (£50-£60).

Official stockists in Oxfordshire include M&P Motorcycle Accessories, off Berinsfield roundabout, Dorchester-on-Thames and Abingdon Motorcycles, of Marcham Road.
