Elvis Presley will be putting on his blue suede shoes and joining the Shy-lites on stage to raise money for a hospice.

Elvis look-alike Malcolm Baker will be one of 24 acts performing at Exeter Hall, Kidlington, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday to raise funds for Helen House, the hospice for terminally-ill children in Oxford.

He will be appearing in The Variety Show with Shylites Lorna McCall, Annette Baker and Jessica Blake performing a ten-minute routine featuring the classic hits Hound Dog, Blue Suede Shoes and The Wonder of You. Malcolm, of Bicester Road, Kidlington, formed the group a year ago to play at another charity concert and has been in demand ever since. They even performed at Oxford United's final match last season against Stockport.

Elvis and the Shylites except Jessica, who is replaced by Denise Huff, re-form as BABA - an ABBA tribute band - to perform another act in the show.

Other performers include the Harlequin School of Dance, from Wheatley, and the choir of St Thomas More RC Primary School, Kidlington. Malcolm said: "It is important to us that we raise money for a worthwhile cause of which Helen House is one."

The show will start at 7.30pm and tickets are £3 and £5. Call Malcolm for more details on 01865 378660.
