THAME United joint boss Andy Sinnott has been named the Ryman League Division 1 manager of the month for November.

Sinnott and joint manager Alan Thorne took Thame to the top of the table last month, winning three of their four games.

Thame also came within three minutes of creating a major FA Umbro Trophy shock when they drew 2-2 at Kettering before bowing out 1-0 in the replay.

Sinnott will accept the award as it's his turn after Thorne picked up the second of their two Division 2 awards last season.

"Obviously it is nice to get the recognition for what Alan and I have done over the last couple of months," said Sinnott. "But we would much rather have it next May having been promoted or having won the league."

Sinnott, who was told of the award before Saturday's game at Staines, was quickly brought back down to earth as Thame crashed to a 3-1 defeat. "We said to the players the award was all down to what they have done and thought that might give them a bit of inspiration, but it had the opposite effect and we were well beaten," he added.

CENTRE back Jon Muttock has joined Witney Town from Carterton after all and is set to make his debut at Weston-super-Mare in the Dr Martens League Cup second round tonight.

Witney's move for Muttock fell through last week when they weren't prepared to pay a small fee for the former Oxford City defender.

However, the matter has now been resolved with Muttock signing for Witney without a transfer fee passing hands.

Manager Andy Lyne said: "We just feel he can do a specific job, and we need to get Gary Murphy out of the middle to a job elsewhere."

Meanwhile, Jason Caffel is unavailable for tonight's tie.
