OXFORD United midfielder Paul Tait has undergone an exploratory operation on his knee.
The 28-year-old former Birmingham City player went into hospital for his arthroscopic op on Tuesday evening.
He had to come off the pitch midway through United's FA Cup second-round replay against Shrewsbury Town last week and will miss the FA Cup third-round tie at Nottingham Forest tomorrow night.
United have pointed out that the tie is not all-ticket, but supporters choosing to pay at the turnstiles are advised to arrive early. Forest's 'kid for a quid' offer will be in operation at the City Ground.
