THE new Vauxhall Agila, which makes its debut at the Geneva Motor Show on March 2, is the first European produced model launched into the growing mini-people carrier sector.
The Agila, designed as an alternative to more conventional cars, goes on sale in the UK in June this year.
The front-wheel-drive car, which will be built in Poland, is powered by a choice of two engines, a 1.0-litre with a power output of 58 horsepower and a 75 horsepower 1.2-litre 16-valve unit.
The car seats four adults and has a load area that holds 248 litres, which can be enlarged to 598 litres as required.
A 50:50 split rear seat, a tall, wide tailgate and low sill also make loading easy.
Rear passengers also enjoy good visibility, with seats 10cm higher than those at the front.
Both models will come with power steering, a split rear seat, a triple info-display, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, carpet lined rear boot, radio-cassette and a roof-mounted antenna, tinted glass and wheel trims.
A number of additional safety options are also available including the latest generation Bosch anti-lock braking system and a passenger airbag.
Prices are yet to be announced.
