DANGEROUS roads are likely to be improved as part of a £760,000 programme to bring highways up to scratch.
Oxfordshire County councillors backed schemes for 17 hot spots. This will involve improved signs and lines and repairs to road surfaces.
The earmarked projects include £20,000 for junction improvements at the Checkendon and Woodcote turns on the A4074 at Woodcote.
Improvements are to be made on the East End turn of the A4095 in North Leigh, the A361 at Milcombe Turn and Wykham Crossroads on the A361 at Banbury.
New pedestrian and cycling crossings are to get £60,000 although it is likely councillors will push for more funds in this area when it comes to rubber-stamping the projects.
The projects to improve dangerous roads were part of a £12.1m package of work backed by the highways and road safety committee.
