NINE-year-old James Harris has won the South of England Cyclo-Cross Championship in his first full season.
James, from Bowgrave Copse, Abingdon, took the title in the Under 12 section after chalking up his fourth win in the best-of-nine race series.
He has notched four victories, four second places and a third in the championship, which sees him compete in races as far away as Southampton and the New Forest.
James rides for Didcot Phoenix Cycling Club. He trains with Pauline Graystock, who is head coach of Cutteslowe Comets, and Eddie Yarker from Didcot Phoenix.
He will ride in the British Schoolboy Pairs on February 27 with his friend Stuart Wacknell representing their school, Radley Primary School, and in the British Schoolboys Championships on March 4.
