THIRD Division strugglers Carlisle United have shown an interest in taking U's striker Kevin Francis.
They made an inquiry last week and were believed to be ready to get back to Denis Smith if Francis successfully came through this week's reserve team game at Norwich - which he did.
Carlisle have recently splashed out on players' wages, signing ex-Aston Villa defender Sean Teale from Motherwell and former international Rob McKinnon on loan from Hearts.
