Zoe Humphris, from Lyneham, became Oxfordshire junior girls champion following a thrilling play-off at Hadden Hill.

Both Humphris, who plays off six, and nine-handicapper Narelle Ives (Frilford Heath), came in with gross 79s.

The nine-hole play-off, which followed, produced some outstanding golf.

One wayward shot on the seventh cost Ives dear and gave Humphris the chance to move two shots clear. On the eighth hole, Humphris held on to that lead with a comfortable par, so even a birdie two on the ninth was not enough for Ives.

Jane Binning (Frilford Heath) had a wayward first drive, but recovered well to put in a gross 83 which secured third place.

Despite an unfortunate eight on the last hole, 14-year-old Samantha Round (Tadmarton Heath) returned an 86-19=67 to win the handicap section.
