A devastated family has paid tribute to dad-of-three Darren Furze, who collapsed and died in a car park, writes Roseena Parveen.
Mr Furze, 29, complained of feeling dizzy just moments before he collapsed at the wheel of his car as his horrified family watched.
Mr Furze, a steam cleaner, from Saxton Road, Abingdon, had a history of heart trouble and was also recovering from a serious accident at work 12 weeks earlier, when he fell 15ft off a lorry, breaking his left leg, right ankle, right arm and wrist. Doctors had been impressed by his fast recovery and Mr Furze was on a shopping trip in Abingdon with his partner Karen Jones and two of their three children.
Mr Furze's father, Ken said: "We are devastated. Darren had never had a heart attack the doctors even said his heart was becoming stronger. I have not just lost a son, I've lost my best mate."
Darren's partner of six and a half years, Karen Jones, 28, said: "He was very happy-go-lucky and very good with the children."
Mr Furze was a keen banger-car racer. Members of the Marcham Banger Boys racing club observed a minute's silence in honour of their team-mate.
Ken Furze said: "He was always smiling and nothing was ever too hard for him."
