It was a case of ladies first when Tiddington played Kidlington in a 3rd XI cricket match on Saturday.
Opening the bowling for Tiddington in this Cherwell League game were two teenage girls, Hannah Burr and Rachel Stoakes.
"The girls have been members of our team for more than a year, but I believe it's the first time they have opened the bowling together," explained Tiddington's 3rd XI captain Ray Manning. "Although they did not pick up any wickets on this occasion, they are in the side on merit and are important members of the team."
Indeed, Hannah, 15, who bowls left-arm over, has already had a trial for the England Ladies Under 16 team and plays for the Thames Valley Ladies senior side.
