A HOME improvements company is celebrating after a trio of successes in one week, writes Sarah Parker.

Cherwell Windows, based at Beaumont Road, Banbury, is to invest 200,000 and create ten new jobs. It has also acquired rival window firm Technique 2000, of Daventry.

In the same week the company, with 2m annual turnover and a 15-strong workforce, has also won a national award for its conservatory products.

The new jobs reflect the strong local demand for the company's products, which include conservatories, windows and doors.

Cherwell Windows has won several new accounts with window companies across the country.

The new staff will not only help to increase production in the Banbury factory, but will also boost the company's team of window installers.

Mike Crewdson, joint managing director, said: "Cherwell Windows has a very successful business formula.

"We are local people so we literally live with what we do so it is important to do the job right first time.

"That is why we are growing and able to create new jobs. These new people will help us meet our order book and satisfy our expansion plans."

The company was established in 1986 by Jim Breslin, joint chairman.

It now specialises in selling PVCu windows, doors, patios and conservatories to retail and trade customers.
