Oxford United chairman Firoz Kassam has issued a direct appeal to all of the club's season ticket holders after deciding to increase ticket prices at the Manor Ground by 50p per match.

An adult terrace ticket is rising from 12 to 12.50 (or 11 if bought in advance), with seats climbing from 15 to 15.50 (14 in advance).

The cost for juniors to stand remains the same at 7 (5.50).

A standard adult terrace season ticket will now set fans back 245 for those who buy from July 3, which represents a 10 increase. Before June 30, it is 215. Under 16s must pay 120, or 105 by June 30. In the letter, which many season ticket holders will receive today, Kassam stated: "I want to write to you personally, first to thank you for your tremendous support during the last frustrating season. Secondly, I seek your continued support for season 2000-2001.

"I ask you to play your part alongside me in helping to minimise losses by the club. You can do this by renewing your season ticket, and better still, persuading your friends to purchase one.

"This will help to keep the club alive until off-the-field difficulties are resolved and we can move forward with a little more confidence." The club makes a special plea to fans to buy their season tickets before the June 30 deadline for season ticket discounts.

Season ticket prices include all 23 Nationwide League Division 2 matches next season, as well as United's home leg in the first round of the Worthington Cup. They are available on instalments, paying by five monthly direct debits. This facility is available until June 30

The Manor Priority Pass will be available again after its conception two years ago. Its function is to bridge the gap between a membership and a season ticket. It covers 15 matches, at a cost of 157.50 for adults, 75 Under 16s/Over 65s. It does not guarantee entry in the way a season ticket does. A membership scheme will, once again, operate this season. Members will only be able to obtain the members' discount if they purchase their terrace or seat ticket before the day of the match.
