Students will tackle the issue of drug taking in Victorian Britain in a school panto.
Pupils at King Alfred's School, Wantage, will perform the musical Poppy about the opium trade. The show aims to be humorous without making light of the subject. The play will have all the familiar sights of panto including a dame, panto horse and songs.
Students from years seven to ten will perform the show at the West Site Hall, in Challow Road, Wantage, on June 19, 20, 22, and 23 at 7.30pm.
Tickets, priced at 3.50 for adults and 1.75 for children and senior citizens, are available from the school on 01235 225701.
