Chrysler have entered two Bicester-built Reynard 2KQ sports cars for the 2000 Le Mans 24-hour race.

Chrysler's factory-backed effort, entered under the organisation of Mopar Team ORECA, will see the race debut of the aluminium Mopar 6.0-litre V8 racing engine.

The engine powered sprint car driver Mark Kinser to the 1999 'World of Outlaws' championship and also powers the supercharged dragster of Lori Cannister. Team ORECA will also field three factory-backed Viper GTS/Rs at Le Mans, with the objective of winning the GTS category there for the third consecutive year.

This season Team ORECA's Dodge Viper was the outright winner of the Rolex 24 at Daytona, Florida, the first 24-hour overall win for Dodge.
