Bernard Tollett Oxfordshire Cup round-up
The big guns came safely through the first round of last night's Bernard Tollett Oxfordshire Cup, with favourites Banbury leading the way.
All-rounder David Taylor cracked 92 to see them home by eight wickets against Chalgrove, who did well to amass 142-7 from their 20 overs.
Local rivals Banbury Twenty recorded the biggest total of the evening, rattling up 157-6 as John Wright (64) and Jason Burbidge (40) set up a 66-run victory over Aston Rowant. Stephen Hart took 5-14 as Rowant were dispatched for 91.
Abingdon Vale failed to trouble Oxford after being shot out for just 50. Mark Murfett returned 4-18 and Alex Pike 3-7.
