Armed raiders targeted a village store in the latest attack on an Oxfordshire sub-post office.
Three men wielding iron bars swooped on the shop at Nuneham Courtenay yesterday and grabbed cash from terrified staff.
One of the gang guarded the entrance, while his accomplices smashed their way through glass security panels above the post office counter.
One raider entered the kiosk and threatened the postmaster before snatching cash from the safe.
No-one was hurt during the raid, which took place at around 4pm. The gang made its getaway in a white Ford Sierra which had been stolen from the Oxford city area earlier in the day.
The car was abandoned a quarter of a mile away in the entrance to Baldon House on Marsh Baldon Road.
The raiders, who had all been wearing balaclavas, were seen fleeing in a white or beige car, thought to be an E-registered Vauxhall Cavalier, which headed back towards the B4074. Detectives are appealing for information, especially from anyone who may have seen activity outside the shop.
Anybody who can help can contact Wantage police on 01235 776000.
The robbery was the latest in a spate of similar incidents including raids on two sub-post offices in Oxford and one at Cholsey.
