An Oxford biology department scored top marks in a government inspection.
The School of Biological and Molecular Sciences at Oxford Brookes University scored 23 out of 24 points for teaching quality, in a formal assessment by the Quality Assurance Agency.
Students described the teaching staff as "accessible, approachable and enthusiastic." Laboratorieswere described as "extensive, well-equipped and of a high standard". Technical staff were singled out for their good qualifications.
