The new tandem pairing of John Bourton and Gil Summy proved more than a match for the blustery conditions by winning Oxford City's Cumnor 25-mile Time Trial in 55mins 34secs.
The first solo rider home, despite dropping to less than 17mph on the windier outward leg, was Paddy Smith.
He was only a matter of seconds outside his personal best in finishing just ahead of Ed Renwick.
There was a personal best from Helene Carabin.
