Weekend action preview, by Richard Tilley
Skipper Neil Megson will be warning his high-flying Banbury team against complacency for the visit of bottom side Bletchley tomorrow (Saturday).
On current form, it is a Home Counties League Premier Division clash which second-placed Banbury should win comfortably.
But Megson knows that his men must avoid slip-ups in games such as these if they are to challenge for the title.
"We're on fire in all departments at the moment," said Megson. "If we play to our potential, then we will get a result. But I will make it clear that there is no room whatsoever for complacency. "To be honest, I didn't expect us to start the season this well, and it has meant we have had to change the way we are approaching things."
Megson explained that Banbury's initial target had been to avoid relegation but after four wins and one defeat they are just three points hehind leaders High Wycombe.
"When it started, we were looking at winning five games to be safe," he added. "That's changed, and our objective now is to win every game.
"A lot of things have surprised me about this league. I thought it would be full of cagey games and well-matched teams, but we have been thrashed once and won the other four easily."
Megson, however, expects Bletchley to be no pushover.
"I'm surprised they're bottom," he said. "I thought that they would be going for the title. They've a couple of class batsmen and I just hope they wait another week before hitting form." Banbury welcome back former Kent and Worcestershire seamer Jason de la Pena, who has been out since the opening league game with an ankle injury.
Oxfordshire batsman Mark Barratt comes back in to the side in place of Martin Thomas.
Bicester & North Oxford travel to Finchampstead without Oxon skipper Rob Williams, who is at a wedding.
Darryl Woods returns to captain the side after missing last week's win over Bletchley with a variety of injuries.
Spinner Ian Curtis misses Oxford's visit to Falkland in the Western Feeder. Bruce Ellison is also out he has returned to South Africa.
Twins Phil and Ian Evans come in to the side, the former fresh from his Minor Counties debut for Oxfordshire against Wales last weekend.
