Tesco worker Michaela Barlow finished her night-shift - and then delivered her friend's baby girl.
Michaela, 24, returned home from Tesco's store in Marcham Road, Abingdon, during the early hours of Wednesday to receive a call from friend Anne Winton, 28, who had just gone into labour.
Michaela rushed round, and while Anne's husband, David, 35, was taking instructions from ambulance staff on the phone, Michaela safely delivered baby Lucy.
The Wintons, who live in Abingdon, have another daughter Sophie, aged three.
Anne said: "We couldn't have done it without Michaela. She was marvellous and I want her to be Lucy's godmother. "The paramedics arrived minutes after Lucy was born but by then Michaela had done all the hard work."
David added: "I was taking instructions over the phone but Michaela was doing the hands-on stuff. We're both very grateful."
Michaela, who has a 21-month-old daughter Georgia, added: "I'm still a little bit dazed. It was a little bit frightening but everything worked out OK and as soon as the paramedics arrived they took over.
"Anne didn't have any pain relief - she was very brave."
