A farmers' market threatened by building work can now go ahead.
Scaffolding has been put up during roof repairs and restoration work at St Nicolas Church in Stert Street, Abingdon.
And this was installed on land dedicated to the town's much-heralded market.
The space had been reserved by Abingdon Town Council after much wrangling over the siting of the market, which runs alongside the existing traditional market, earlier this year.
A compromise was reached with the farmers' market split into two sites - one under Abingdon Museum and the other on land next to the church. But the town council has been inundated with calls from farmers worried that the market, which is next due to take place on Monday, would have to be abandoned.
Farmers, who have hailed the market a big success, feared they could be pushed out because the work to repair the church could take months.
Now, after negotiations with the Vale of White Horse District Council, the town council has been given permission to press ahead with the market on an alternative site.
It will be held on the steps of the Guildhall, as a temporary measure until the roof repairs and restoration work at the church is complete.
Lesley Legge, who organised the market, said: "The next farmers' market will go ahead scaffolding or no scaffolding.
"We've worked hard to set this market up and we are determined a bit of scaffolding will not stop us."
