Howdy! Here's the story: I'm a photographer with a long-standing though generally nebulous interest in the 8th Army Air Force of the Second World War. In recent months though, I've developed a keen interest in the 7th Photo Recon Group, based at Mount Farm, southeast of your fair city (I hope, since my cartographic skills are lacking). I know of a group history called "The Eyes of the Eighth," though I cannot find a copy. Most of my contacts know very little about the group, its operations or techniques in any great detail owing to the fact that most of them are probably still classified.
So what I'm looking for are recollections from any of the locals out there who might remember. Specifically, I'm looking for an image of the group insignia or patch (assuming one was ever approved).
I would like to ask any one out there who has any information they would like to share to please contact me at "the 7thPRG@aol.com," or to write me the old-fashioned way.
Thanks for listening to my pleas, and here's to hoping this letter makes it to right section of this publication.
