Businesses which have helped fund ambitious plans to add new towers to Oxford's skyline are being thanked at a reception tonight (June 19).

This comes ahead of OOMF! (Oxford's Own Millennium Festival) on July 1.

The Oxford Spires Four Pillars hotel, which is one of the main sponsors, has invited other supporters, including HSBC, Marks & Spencer, Fox FM and Scotch Tape, to a pre-event drinks reception.

The award-winning design team is staying at the hotel leading up to the event.

Festival organisers hope the designers, who have been making the three 100ft tower structures at a base in Upper Heyford, will attend the reception and talk about how the work is progressing. Ian Keeling, managing director of Four Pillars Hotels, said: "It has been an honour for us to be so closely involved with Oxford's very own Millennium celebration. OOMF! is set to be a visitor spectacle which will mark Oxford's place in history."

Festival manager Rosemary Richards said OOMF! was very grateful to all the supporters who had helped the event take shape.
