Oxford Rescue and Garsington tied for the second time in a fortnight, when they clashed in OCA League Premier Divison 1 on Saturday.
Two weeks after Garsington beat Rescue on fewer wickets in an Airey Cup tie, the sides were at it again.
Batting first, Oxford made 172-9 with Allen top scoring with 49. Woodward took 5-47.
Garsington had reached 171-9 with a ball to spare when the last delivery was deemed to be a wide. The quick-thinking of the Rescue wicket-keeper saved the day for his team as he returned the ball to the non-striker's end to force a run-out and leave the scores tied. Cowley's Steve Howard was in top-form as he hit 121 not out against Great Horwood.
He was well supported by Ali who made 65. Cowley's total of 260-2 was always beyond Horwood who reached 177-8, despite Taylor making 94 not out.
A high-scoring game in Division 3 saw Watlington's Allen make 108 in his team's 224-6.
However, Faringdon found batting easy on the day, getting home by nine wickets with Smith (85) and Carroll (72 not out) showing the way.
In what was a good day in general for batsmen, one bowler stood out. Marcham's Andy Chalmers took 9-22 as Long Hanborough were rattled out for 64. Marcham got home by seven wickets.
