The two great names of local village cricket face each other in Sunday's Oxfordshire final of the Wadworth 6X National Village Championship.
Hosts Tiddington take on Shipton-under-Wychwood for the right to travel to the Glamorgan & Gwent winners - either Usk or Ynystawe - in the first national round.
Tiddington were the county's top side in the competition during the late 80s and early 90s, a period of dominance which culminated in a Lord's final appearance in 1995. But their stock subsequently fell, and this is their first Oxfordshire final since that golden year.
Tiddington's slide, meanwhile, coincided with Shipton's rise.
National runners-up in 1997 - when their day out at Lord's was overshadowed by the death of Diana Princess of Wales in the early hours of that morning - Shipton will start Sunday's game as favourites.
They lead Cherwell League Division 1 by 32 points, and lost in last year's national semi-finals to eventual winners Linton Park.
But Tiddington, currently top of Cherwell Division 3C, are confident of causing an upset, despite their recent poor record against Shipton.
