What is believed to be the second largest haul of double-figure bream ever recorded has been taken by a local angler, writes Peter Stone.
Fishing a local undisclosed gravel pit, Eynsham-based John Wilkins banked 12 double-figure bream in a 14-fish haul totalling 152lb 1oz, the biggest fish weighing 13lb 10oz.
All came during daylight in a 24-hour session on feeder fished corn and maggot cocktail fished on a gravel bar at 40 yard's range.
The biggest fish beat John's personal best by 5oz.
