Two people were stabbed, one in the neck and the other in the thigh, during a fight involving ten men, writes Madeleine Pennell.
Police were called to the incident outside the Alliance and Leicester Building Society in Oxford's George Street, at about 3.15pm on Saturday.
The two injured men were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital. The man who was stabbed in the neck had his wound stitched and was discharged.
The victim who was stabbed in the thigh also received a nose injury. He, too, has been discharged from hospital. Police have not released the names of the victims.
Four men arrested and questioned at Oxford police station, have been released on police bail.
A police spokesman said: "More arrests are expected in connection with this incident. Police were looking at CCTV footage which is comprehensive in that area."
Sgt Nigel Faux, of Thames Valley Police said: "George Street would have been absolutely heaving at that time. There would have been lots of onlookers. We are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about this incident to come forward."
Anyone with information is asked to call Oxford police station on 01865 266000.
