The Simpsons of Swindon Proton Rally Team scored an incredible double at last weekend's Autospares Dukeries Rally based around Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire.
Driver Tim Green, of Wantage, and co-driver Rob Smith, from Swindon, not only stormed to a superb class win in the 1600 Showroom category in their Oxford Mail-backed Proton Satria SRi, but also managed to finish clear of all their rivals in the 2.0-litre category.
Smith said: "This has got to be one of the hardest and best results of the season." They finished 35 seconds ahead of their nearest rivals on the event, round seven of the BTRDA National Rally Championship the UK's largest rally series, and have now taken maximum scores on the last two rounds.
