Greene King is to maintain its links between the MG Car Club and the ex-Morland brand Old Speckled Hen, writes David Duffy.
When the club's annual rally came round, Greene King's business manager Simon Kidd found them a special meeting place the Hungry Horse pub, The Magic Midget, in Preston Road, Abingdon.
More than 100 MGs and 250 people gathered at the pub where Old Speckled Hen presentation glasses were handed out to all of the drivers.
Pub managers Paul and Bev Vanstone said: "The car park looked spectacular." Mr Kidd said he was delighted that Greene King was supporting not only Old Speckled Hen but continuing the association with the MG Car Club.
He said: "It seemed very apt that the rally, which formerly started at the Morland brewery, should begin at The Magic Midget."
Last weekend the MG Car Club celebrated their 50th Silverstone International. Old Speckled Hen, the name given to an early MG because of its unusual paintwork, was adopted as the name for a premium beer developed by the former Morland brewery which has become a bottled best-seller.
