Bicester AC's men's team were up against it in their Division 6 (West) fixture at Basingstoke.
Their four rival teams included Team Solent, who are challenging strongly for promotion, as well as Haslemere Border and Chichester, who had both triumphed over Bicester in earlier fixtures. However, the eight-strong team responded well, finishing second.
Of the 16 field events contested, Bicester were successful in ten of them. Wayne Varney and Brian Prickett dominated the long jump with the two longest marks of the competition.
Varney was equally dominant in the triple jump, winning by more than two metres.
