The controversy over a mobile phone mast is to be decided soon.
The Vale of White Horse District Council's policy committee - not the planning committee - will resolve the issue of Abingdon's Tilsley Park mast at a meeting on July 12.
The council has received hundreds of letters and several petitions from local people objecting to telephone company Vodafone's application for a permanent mobile phone mast.
The committee will also decide whether Vodafone should have its six-month temporary permission extended for a mast near the Long Furlong homes and play areas.
