Metal Mickey says: Beware stereotypes
Cliches, preconceptions and stereotypes, they're often hard to avoid. Take the England football supporters who travelled to Euro 2000 for instance - every single one of 'em was a foaming-at-the-mouth drunken lout hell-bent on causing as much trouble as humanly possible.
It must be true. The president of UEFA said so. But most right-minded people know that it wasn't.
It's like the stereotypical view of metal and nu-rock acts. They terrorise small children, scare the elderly, worship pagan gods and eat raw, red meat, don't they? Earthtone 9 don't follow the metal form book - they're all vegans. Which doesn't mean they've beamed in from a Star Trek convention, it just means that as far as food goes they prefer the green option.
As for their music, there's no half measures. Its a full-on no-holds-barred barrage of blistering metalcore. Heavier than a sumo wrestling match in quick drying cement.
Find out what all the fuss is about for yourself when Earthtone 9 play a Kooler Xtra at The Bullingdon in Cowley Road on July 9.
