A couple had a narrow escape from a fire, despite their smoke alarm going off.
The pair didn't hear it - but a neighbour did and called the fire brigade.
The couple were still fast asleep when fire crews from Oxford's Rewley Road station got to their first-floor flat at Radcliffe House in St George's Park, Littlemore, at 1.30am yesterday. Firefighters led them to safety and then dealt with the cause of the blaze, a grill pan which had been left on.
The couple, who have asked not to be named, were unhurt. The flat was not damaged except for smoke damage in the kitchen.
