Owls and birds of prey are being encouraged to nest at Thames Water sites across Oxfordshire, thanks to Witney sewage works employer Pat Wixey.
Mr Wixey is a member of the Hawk and Owl Trust and has picked the locations for a 5,000 project to put up about 45 nesting boxes.
Boxes have already been put up at Witney, Carterton, Stanton Harcourt, Standlake and Kingston Bagpuize sewage treatment works. It is hoped these will provide homes for little owls, barn owls and falcons.
