A woman was forced on a terror drive after being abducted by two men she had stopped to help.

She was playing the Good Samaritan when the pair forced their way into her car.

The nightmare began as the 30-year-old mum drove from her home in Grove to work in Abingdon.

Police fear there may have been a sexual motive and are appealing for witnesses to help track down the men.

The woman, who is too frightened to be named, pulled over when she saw a man curled up on the floor as if in pain and his accomplice waving to summon help.

She pulled off the A415 at Marcham near the Hyde nursery to go to their aid. But as she asked what was happening, the men jumped into her white Ford Mondeo and ordered her to drive the six miles to Steventon. As she reached Mill Street in the village the pair got out of the car and made a grab for her handbag. A struggle broke out and the terrified woman locked the doors and reversed at speed to make her escape. The men ran off.

Police want to trace a dark blue hatchback Ford Escort which was parked near the nursery.

They want to hear from anyone who saw the car, or the Mondeo, in Mill Street between 6.30pm and 7pm on Monday.

Det Con Chris Hand said: "The victim is at home recovering and she is still extremely distressed. Although inquiries are ongoing we would like the public to help us catch these men.

"We would like to know about similar incidents that have not been reported, or situations where people stopped and felt uneasy." The first man was white, early 30s, 5ft 10in tall with short mousy hair. The second man was white, early 30s, taller with shoulder-length dark hair.
