The musical line-up . . .
The annual Cropredy Festival (from August 10-12) goes into extra time this year. For the first time an extra day has been added to the festival, which is now in its 26th year.
To the delight of ageing hippies, the festival features the original line-up of the Incredible String Band tonight. The legendary Scottish trio of Mike Heron, Robin Williamson and Clive Palmer, recently played a sell-out Millennium concert in Edinburgh, their first after more than 30 years.
Opening the festival are local band Spank the Monkey, who modelled themselves on the classic r'n'b bands of the sixties. Headlining on the night will be Cropredy favourites All About Eve, with the wonderful voice of Julianne Regan.
Tomorrow, folk-rockers Little Johnny England open the evening, followed by former Plainsong members, Iain Matthews and Andy Roberts.
Jerry Donahue appears with the Backroom Boys, followed by the Albion Band, with Ashley Hutchings.
Headlining is rock legend Robert Plant with his own band, the Priory of Brion.
Saturday features Banbury band The Unprofessionals, folk singer Bob Fox, seventies' originals Stackridge, and blues band The Hamsters.
Show of Hands, featuring Steve Knightley and Phil Beer, are the penultimate band before Fairport Convention and an array of special guests close the festival.
