Daredevil teenagers are being warned not to race across a road between cars and then vault into a river.
The youngsters' stunts on Wallingford Bridge are concerning town councillors.
Cllr Dee Cripps said crowds on the riverbank cheer on the leapers and clap as they land in the river. "My fear is that children will try to emulate the older boys. I am not a killjoy but I would hate to hear of anyone killed or permanently crippled through this foolishness, she said.
"We are used to youngsters standing on the bridge and leaping into the river. But running between cars and vaulting over the edge is something else.
"I saw them do it but got nowhere when I pointed out the dangers both on the road and in the river.
Town councillors will discuss the issue at a future meeting.
Police have said they will keep an eye on the problem.
