Banbury look set to appeal against the Home Counties League's decision to suspend Shahbaz Ali for two games for his alleged part in the racial taunt row with Bicester's Australian all-rounder Damien Alderton, writes Richard Tilley.
"We are almost certain to lodge an appeal," said skipper Neil Megson. "We were not even aware that Shahbaz was on trial. We think the penalty is desperately harsh."
Shahbaz has been given permission by the league to play in tomorrow's game at Luton. Wicket-keeper Megson returns from injury.
Shahbaz will also play in Sunday's Bernard Tollett Oxfordshire Cup final against Sandford St Martin.
Banbury will be looking to win the trophy for only the second time in their history at Abingdon Vale (10.30).
