Police are giving on-line advice to victims of crimes and witnesses.
The Thames Valley force's website now has a new section which aims to answer the questions most frequently asked.
In addition to advising people about what to do if they become a victim or witness a crime, the new pages explore the difference between robbery and burglary, answer questions about the force's Safer Roads campaign and explain what happens after a road traffic accident.
Also included is information on the issue of fixed penalty tickets and the criteria for becoming a police officer.
Assistant Chief Constable Julie Spence said: "Thames Valley Police is keen to foster a greater public understanding of how we work and what we do.
"By putting these questions and answers on the website, we can ensure that when people do come into contact with the police whether it be as a victim of crime, a witness to an offence, a motorist, or even a potential new recruit they know what to expect."
