It takes just minutes to find motorists dicing with death on Oxfordshire's roads by using their mobile phones while driving.
The depressing news follows the launch of the Oxford Mail's Can't Talk, I'm Driving campaign, which aims to stop motorists using mobile phones while they are on the road.
Within an hour, four drivers were spotted by Pc Gary Froud, of Abingdon traffic base, and two were reprimanded.
Ten minutes into the trip, the first driver was stopped in Didcot. He was pulled over and immediately admitted his mistake - even revealing that he had read about our campaign.
Pc Froud told the driver why he was pulled over and warned him not to do it again. Pc Froud said: "He was half in the right as he had told the person on the phone he could not talk and would call them back when he had pulled over. What he should have done was pull over before answering it.
"It is quite astounding what you see drivers doing. Lorry and van drivers are the worst for talking on phones. They get so engrossed in a call and lose concentration - that is when accidents happen."
