Richard Peirson, who is set to switch from centre back to a striking role this season, was carried off with an ankle injury as Oxford City were held to a 2-2 draw at Swindon Supermarine in their final pre-season friendly.
Peirson now faces a battle to be fit in time for City's Ryman League Division 1 opener at home to Uxbridge next Saturday.
Skipper Matty Hayward, who has been struggling with a knee injury, came safely through 45 minutes, but is still sore and also faces a week of treatment along with summer signing Simon Abercrombie (groin).
City saw a 2-0 half-time lead slip away against Supermarine.
Andy Smith, City's leading scorer last season, and Danny Wise put them clear, but Supermarine hit back after the break when a poor punch by Alan Foster was converted by Peter Farrow.
City, playing their second game in three days, tired as the half went on and a mistake by Michael Thorp allowed Tom Jones, the former Arsenal, Aberdeen and Swindon Town player, to make it 2-2.
