Section 5 leaders Quarry Gate B have got their sights set firmly on the title after their seventh consecutive victory.
Marston Royal British Legion were their latest victims, going down 6-3 after wins from Weller, Whitlock, Lofthouse, Foster and Sealey.
With only four points separating the top five teams, Section 6 is boiling up for an exciting finish.
Masons Arms A kept their chances alive with a 7-2 win over Eagle Tavern.
Masons B are also going well and they maintained their position at the top of Section 8 when they beat Jubilee 77 Club 7-2 thanks to singles wins from Ford, Crowther, Webb, Stockford and Newport. A 2-1 pairs win increased this to 7-2.
It leaves them four points ahead of Ampleforth A who narrowed the gap slightly after an 8-1 success over Catherine Wheel A.
Section 10 leaders Dean Court SC beat Marlborough House 7-2, Halsall, Garrard and Bedworth giving them a 3-0 lead.
The visitors pulled one game back through Eade, but wins from A Plant and S Plant put them 5-1 up and they also won the pairs 2-1.
In the Ladies League, Railway SC (Section 1) entertained Blackbird Bar and went ahead through Pat Carter. But that proved the host's only success as the Blackbird powered to a stunning 8-1 victory.
General Elliott triumphed 6-3 at Prince of Wales B thanks to wins from Lyn Padbury, Debbie Campbell and Sandra Witts and a 3-0 pairs success. Ann Marks, Hazel Drennan and Rose Swanton replied for Prince.
