Witney's Stacey Bailes clinched the silver medal in an exciting 16-year 200m breaststroke final at the Kellogg's Frosties National Age Group Championships at Coventry.
Bailes finished in a time of 2.44.51, behind the winner Laura Graham, of Millfield, who triumphed in 2.41.16.
City of Birmingham swimmer Carina Russell took bronze with 2.45.27.
There were mixed fortunes for the eight City of Oxford swimmers who qualified to compete in 17 different events at the championships.
Fourteen-year-old Lucy Higton swam in three events and produced times close to her best. Her 2.33.74 for the 200m butterfly placed her as first reserve for the final, having previously achieved a second reserve placing for the 100m.
Swimming in the girls 16-year age group, Katie Scott qualified for eight events but decided to concentrate on the freestyle where her 50m and 100m times were good.
Her 100m backstroke swim was only just outside her personal best, while her time of 2.31.05 was a personal best in the 200m event.
Fifteen-year-old James Warren achieved two personal bests in the 200m and 400m freestyle, and 12-year-old Jo Canlan-Shaw improved on his previous best for the 100m backstroke.
In the girls 100m backstroke, 12-year-old Susanna Prince was only just outside her best.
City's two breaststroke qualifiers, Arron Rose and Lauren Ottley, were both a little below par in the 14-year age groups, as was 15-year-old Clementine Harris, who competed in the demanding 400m individual medley.
