Oxford United boss Denis Smith has acted quickly to put things right following Saturday's opening day defeat at the hands of Peterborough.
Smith sat down with his squad after yesterday's photocall at the Manor, hoping to address the areas which let his side down in the 1-0 reverse.
But the U's manager was quick to hit back at claims that Lee Jarman's United future was on the line, despite withdrawing the on-trial defender at half-time.
"Lee Jarman was one of the better players on Saturday and the only reason he was taken off was because other people weren't doing their jobs properly," Smith said. "But we're going to sit down with all the players now and discuss what went wrong, and hopefully put them right."
Smith refused to blame the 3-5-2 system for Saturday's defeat, and said that it was up to the players to fit into the formation he chooses.
"Everybody is talking about the system, but I've said all along that if the players pass and move and do the things I want them to, I'll play a system to suit them. The problem on Saturday was that there wasn't enough movement on the ball."
United face a trip to Port Vale this Saturday.
