Car transporter lorries thundering through a picture postcard village are angering residents.
People living in Cuxham, near Watlington, want the 16ft high McKenzie Myers vehicles to use another route, but Oxfordshire County Council says that cannot be done.
Margaret Haley, the chairman of Cuxham parish meeting, who successfully fought for 30mph limits through all the county's villages, is leading the campaign
She said residents were recording vehicle movements.
"These monsters rumble and sway through our village, terrifying both the elderly and the growing number of young people. The road is barely 12ft wide and lorries cannot negotiate the bends without crossing the centre white lines, she added.
The council said McKenzie Myers, which moved to Watlington industrial estate earlier this year, had an operator's licence from the Government, and there was nothing it could do.
But the firm's business development director, Christian Scott, said: "When we looked at the site we consulted county highways who suggested the Cuxham route as the better way out of the site.
"The alternative is through the centre of Watlington which has a very bad bottleneck." He claimed the previous firm to occupy the site, Verran Freight, sent more lorries through Cuxham.
