The college at the centre of the Oxford elitism row today said it had no regrets about turning down Laura Spence despite her A-level success.
Laura, 18, from Tyneside, got five straight A grades.
Magdalen College President Anthony Smith said: "Of course we don't have any regrets. We picked five stunning students who are all doing well and have done better than her in their exams. We wish her all the best."
