MOTORCYCLE racer Peter Thorne, 46, is still setting alarm bells ringing among young riders with a string of international victories.
The security installation manager rode classic Yamaha 250cc machines to victories in two races at the Ulster Grand Prix.
Competing on the 7.5-mile Dundrod circuit, he scooped a win in the 250 Classic race on a 1967 bike and used a 1973 model to win the race for ex-grand prix machines.
He said: "I was very pleased as it was only the second time I had ridden on the circuit."
Thorne, of Edinburgh Drive, Kidlington, was off to Belgium this week to compete in the Belgium Classic Championships.
He is leading the 250cc class and is running sixth in the 350cc class.
