Oxford University said today that it was unaware of any application from US President Bill Clinton's daughter, Chelsea, to study there next year.
US talk-show host Larry King, writing in USA Today newspaper, revealed that 20-year-old Chelsea wanted to follow her father's example and become a student at Oxford University.
In his weekly column, Mr King wrote: Chelsea to follow in her dad's footsteps. She's interested in politics, government and history. She told me she plans to attend Oxford in fall 2001. A statement issued by Oxford University today said: We are not aware of any application by Chelsea Clinton to study at the University at this stage.
A spokesman added that the deadline for undergraduate courses for 2001 was this coming October 15.
Miss Clinton is a history undergraduate at Stanford University in California.
